Books I Want To Read Tag

I have never done a tag and thought it was time to do one! I saw this tag at the blog Bookathon and decided to tag along haha!

The Rules

  • Link back to the original tag
  • Complete the questions with books you want to have read but don’t want to read
  • Tag some people at the end to do the tag next.
  1. A book you feel you need to read because everyone talks about it

For me, that is the Grisha Trilogy. Literally, everyone raves about this book, and I feel like I am missing out.

2. A book that’s really long

I think the book “A Suitable Boy” written by Vikram Seth is apt for this as it consists of a whopping 1474 pages! Phew, that’s a lot! I would like to read this book but I want to be sure it lives up to my expectations before devoting a huge chunk of my time to it. I know I will have to read the book to decide that but a book as big as this one isn’t getting read anytime soon. One day, probably!

3. A book you’ve owned/had on your TBR for too long

Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte and Emily Bronte

10210     348914

I have a massive tome containing these two novels and some more by the two sisters Charlotte and Emily Bronte, which I got at a cheap rate on a book sale back in…Wait for it.. the year 2010! That’s how long these stories have been lying on my shelf. I really want to read all of them but it hasn’t happened…yet.

   4. A book that is required reading(eg. school text, really popular classic-something you feel obligated to read)

286796

I m not in school or uni anymore, but while studying at law college we had to read the play “The Merchant of Venice” as we merely had an excerpt of the play focusing on a court case in our textbook. This may be cheating as I have read the court scenes in the play, but the scenes at the court alone were anti-semitic which made me uncomfortable and I am not inclined to read the entire story.

5. A book that intimidates you

War and Peace

War and Peace, written by Leo Tolstoy is another huge book, consisting of 1392 pages! I have always been intrigued by this book and would like to read it if my utterly short attention span allows it!

6. A book that you think might be slow

4929

Considering I got bored halfway through “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle”, another book of Murakami, I am not too sure about “Kafka on the Shore”, written by Murakami too, but I have seen great reviews of it, so I would like to give it a chance, but also don’t want to “read” it, you know!

7. A book you need to be in the right mood for

29774026

The latest release “The Priory of the Orange Tree” by  Samantha Shannon comes to mind. I think I need to be in the mood for fantasy before I pick up this book. This book is not short either and is roughly around 800 pages!

8. A book you’re unsure if you will like

Half Girlfriend by Chetan Bhagat

22874559

Chetan Bhagat lovers will be upset, but seriously, I have never read any book by Chetan Bhagat, an Indian writer, and I’m not sure I will in the future either if the snippets from this book told to me by my friends who have read it are anything to go by!

That’s it, guys! I had a really fun time doing this tag and hope you all like it! I am not tagging anyone in particular and if you wanna do the tag, consider yourself tagged! Until next time, folks! Happy Reading!

  1. I took a class about War and Peace. We had to read so much each week that when i got sick there was no way to catch up. I say i read it but really i skipped 200 pages in the middle and skimmed the second epilogue (who writes two epilogues??) i want to reread eventually, but like you said its very intimidating.

      1. Does it help if i say that it was a great class amd that reading W&P is like reading a novel, a history book, and a war manual all at once? Three 400 pages books? Im talking out of my ass here, but its still a worthwhile read.

  2. This are fun. Margaret George, who writes books about historical people, writes long and are quite enjoyable although I find currently I am interested in fast reads.
