But her life changes when she joins a school and meets Miss Honey, her class teacher.

Review:

I had watched the film adaptation of the book “Matilda” as a kid and and had loved it. Reading this book as an adult made me very nostalgic. The character of Matilda is just adorable and Miss Honey is a lovely person. I loved the story. The only thing that made me wonder was whether this book was suitable for children. The story is written in the manner of an adult’s viewpoint and there are topics such as child neglect by parents, mistreatment of small children by teachers which may not be comprehended properly by kids or may scare them. But I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This was my first read of the year and I loved it! Yay!
