Hi Peeps! Long time no post. I can’t believe we are in March already. February went by in a flash. But I discovered new songs and also acquired quite a lot of stuff in the short month of February. I would love to share them with you. So let’s begin with the purchases I made.
How can this post not mention books? They are my first and foremost love, apart from my family and friends, of course. I was quite excited to buy the following books as they were quite hyped before they were even published and a lot of people loved reading them.
The first book is:
a. The Bear and the Nightingale
This book is the debut novel of author Katherine Arden and it has received a lot of praises. It is the first book in a trilogy. It’s set in Russia and I have never read any books set in that country. I am currently 10 pages into the first novel and am quite intrigued. I will write a review post as soon as i finish it.
b. Secrets for the Mad
Unless you have been living under a rock or are completely averse to the Internet, or more specifically, Youtube, you must have heard of the British youtuber Dodie Clark, whose youtube channel is called doddleoddle. She is a talented singer and songwriter along with a good writer. She recently wrote a book called “Secrets for the Mad”, which is also the title of one of her original songs, which i would highly recommend for you to hear. The lyrics of the song are simple but meaningful. Needless to say, I am very excited to read her book.
I am a notebook hoarder. I have several empty notebooks with zero ideas of what to do with them. I just can’t resist buying pretty notebooks. I bought these two pretty notebooks precisely due to their covers, one of which has the well-known bus and the Big Ben of my favourite city London inscribed on it.
- Tower Bridge
As I stated above, London is one of my favourite cities in the world. I have never visited it, but would love to one day. My fascination with London began when I read books written by two of my favourite British authors, who are highly acclaimed and loved around the world . Of course, you may already have guessed one of them. It is *insert drum roll* J.K. Rowling! I am a Potterhead and I love the series of Harry Potter to bits. I have read and loved every single book in the series. These books set in the enchanting wizarding world of Harry Potter will always be dear to me, no matter how old i become. Although J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series made me love London even more, it was another British woman whose books transported me to Britain every time, and that was none other than Enid Blyton. I grew up reading her books such as the series of Famous Five, the Malory Towers, the Secret Seven, the Faraway Tree and the Find-Outers. Sigh! I feel so nostalgic right now. I have gone way off-topic, so let’s return to the main subject here, which is that I recently bought a tiny replica of the Tower Bridge in London. And I bought it not from those high-end stores, but from a street vendor. Isn’t it beautiful?
I placed the Tower Bridge in front of a cushion cover with a picture of Victoria Terminus, also called as CST. CST stands for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, one of the many archaeological marvels constructed by the British during their rule in India. It is bustling railway station situated in the capital city of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra.
A Close-up of the replica of the Tower Bridge:
- Complete Family
I don’t know what it’s actually called, but I always called it “Complete Family”. The big doll-like piece in the below picture contains several similar pieces inside it.
So, the first pic is me holding the single doll which opens in the middle.
And then, voila:
As you can see, the single doll contains the other dolls inside it and hence, it resembles a complete family.
As a kid, I was fascinated with this item. But the one my family had got lost somewhere, and ever since I had been wishing I could find it in a reasonable price. And I did! And it was from the same vendor from where i got the Tower Bridge. I am so happy!
And lastly, I found this cute cat pouch in the Lifestyle store and bought it on an impulse.
Phew! I did spend quite a bit in the month of February but I have no regrets as I love every single item that I bought.
On to Music:
- Fantasy”from Urban Flora EP
I discovered this song while watching a video of a youtuber named Jem, who was talking about the current music she was bopping too. She mentioned the song “Fantasy” from this album that she was currently listening to, and after listening to it, I liked it too. Here is her video in Youtube for those interested:
2. “Likey” by Twice
Sung by the K-Pop band named Twice, “Likey” may sound childish, but I am glad that I came across this song, because it never fails to raise my spirits when I am feeling down. It’s just a fun song to bop to.
Well! That’s all! I hope you had a good time in February too and do have a great time in March!
Till Next Time!
